TFT Greater Ocala Announces

Bo Williams Scholarship Fund

The First Tee of Greater Ocala has been formed to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

The First Tee of Greater Ocala is proud to announce as its initial Founding Sponsor ($25,000+), longtime Ocala businessman and legendary golfer, Bo Williams. Mr. Williams has made a significant contribution to The First Tee of Greater Ocala which has led to the establishment of the Bo Williams Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship will allow five junior golfers annually access to The First Tee of Greater Ocala’s programming. Four of the scholarships will be based upon financial need, while the fifth scholarship will focus on a junior golfer that has targeted golf as their “primary sport” and who perhaps wishes to play golf at the collegiate level. Mr. Williams stated, “The First Tee of Greater Ocala is not only introducing young people to the game of golf, which has meant so much in my life, but they are also instilling values that will help them become better people.” The First Tee of Greater Ocala’s president, Clark Creamer had this to say about Mr. Williams, “The sportsmanship Mr. Williams displayed on the course and the respect he showed for his playing partners and opponents alike make him a fine representative of First Tee values.” Clark went on to say, “We at The First Tee of Greater Ocala are proud to have the support of a golfer and a gentleman of the caliber of Mr. Williams, it speaks volumes for programming The First Tee delivers to the youth of Ocala/Marion County.”

Board of Directors' Information

The First Tee of Greater Ocala is looking for a few good men or women to fill available spots on our Board of Directors. This is a working Board. Members are required to participate in fund raising endeavors, attend monthly Board meetings, participate in various committees and make a small financial contribution. Time commitment ranges from 2-6 hours per month. Our goal is to fill the available positions with strong community leaders who have a passion for helping children and the motivation to help our organization grow. We have built a tremendous base, but without the help of a strong Board of Directors the organization will be challenged to continue to meet our burgeoning needs.
